“Why Should You Pray for Me When I Am Going To Rest?” — Man Shares Rev. Azzaman's Final Words, Says Cleric Passed Away After Singing Hymn
The Christian community in Kaduna has been plunged into mourning following the death of renowned cleric, Reverend David Ayuba Azzaman, whose final moments have deeply touched many.
According to an eyewitness account shared online, Rev. Azzaman was involved in a fatal crash while traveling from Benue State to Kaduna. He was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state alongside other victims of the accident.
Upon regaining consciousness, the cleric reportedly asked about the condition of the others and was assured they were safe.
When those around him suggested offering prayers for his recovery, he calmly replied, “Why should you pray for me when I am going to rest?”
He then began to sing Wata Rana, a popular Hausa gospel song that speaks of eternal rest and reunion with the Creator. Moments after completing the song, he peacefully passed away.
His dignified and faith-filled final moments have stirred an outpouring of tributes on social media, with many commending his spiritual strength and unwavering belief, even in the face of death.
