As the charges were read, Onyedikachukwu stood firm, entering a plea of not guilty to all seven counts. Following his plea, the EFCC's counsel urged the court to order his remand in custody pending trial. 

However, Onyedikachukwu's legal representative, Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN), swiftly countered with a bail application. In his plea for bail, Ojukwu cited compelling humanitarian grounds, informing the court that his client's two children were currently unwell and required his care. 

He also indicated that discussions were underway between the involved parties to explore the possibility of an amicable, out-of-court resolution to the matter.
