The US Council on Foreign Relations says Ibrahim Traoré isn’t liberating Africa but instead, building a cult.

In a brutal write-up titled “The Cult of Traoré,” CFR says the 36-year-old leader is jailing critics, dodging elections, and selling Pan-African vibes to hide authoritarian power grabs.

They even dragged the diaspora: “You’re cheering dictatorship while living in democracies.”

But back in the Sahel, many see Traoré as the symbol of a new Africa — bold, resource-driven, and DONE asking for Western permission.

The West calls it a threat to democracy. Others call it reclaiming sovereignty.
