BARKIN LADI LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL AND STATE GOVERNMENT COLLABORATE ON SECURITY INFRASTRUCTURE

The Executive Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Hon. Stephen Gyang Pwajok, yesterday received Hon. Sylvanus Dongtoe, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, at the Local Government Secretariat.

Hon. Dongtoe commended the Chairman for his outstanding efforts in promoting peace and development in Barkin Ladi, acknowledging the significant strides made under his leadership. The Commissioner expressed his ministry's willingness to partner with the Local Government Council to drive development and improve residents' lives.

Hon. Dongtoe's visit to Barkin Ladi was at the behest of His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, with the specific aim of ensuring the Mobile Police Barracks in Garshish is properly equipped and furnished for the police personnel who will be posted there.

In response, Hon. Pwajok extended his congratulations to the Commissioner on his recent appointment by Governor Mutfwang, expressing enthusiasm about collaborating with him. Hon. Pwajok highlighted the cordial relationship he had established with the former Commissioner, assuring Hon. Dongtoe that he looks forward to maintaining a similar working relationship.

Hon. Pwajok appreciated Governor Mutfwang's commitment to ensuring peace and stability in Barkin Ladi and the state at large. He emphasized that completing the Mobile Police Barracks would significantly enhance security operations' effectiveness in the area, complementing other security agencies' efforts.

To further assess the project's status, Hon. Pwajok accompanied Hon. Dongtoe on a spot assessment visit to the Mobile Police Barracks. With work on the facility expected to commence soon, this visit demonstrates the State and Local Government's commitment to enhancing security infrastructure in Barkin Ladi.
