Amb Chris Giwa Condemns Killing of Eight at Wereng Community, Riyom LGA

Amb Chris Giwa, PhD, strongly condemns the recent arson and brutal killing of eight persons in Wereng community of Riyom Local Government Area.

Reacting to the barbaric incident, Giwa expressed deep concern over the unprovoked attacks on isolated communities in parts of Plateau State, emphasizing that such acts are not only inhumane but also a blatant disregard for morality and the principles of all religions. 

These senseless acts of violence have left deep scars and underscore the urgent need for collective action to protect vulnerable communities.

Giwa extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the entire Wereng community, as well as the Berom nation and Plateau State.

He emphasized the importance of community policing in assisting vulnerable communities to prevent such attacks, drawing inspiration from the biblical figure of Nehemiah, who not only rebuilt the broken walls of Jerusalem but also led his people to be vigilant and watchful.

Giwa reiterates his call for proactive measures to safeguard these communities, ensuring they are not left defenseless against such aggression.

In his message of comfort, Giwa expressed hope that God Almighty will raise leaders like Nehemiah to rebuild the broken walls of our vulnerable communities and lead our people to safety and prosperity. He prayed for divine intervention and peace in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
