Woodberry pleads he’s not guilty for 8-count fraud charge as his trial continues

 

Alleged fraudster, Olalekan Ponle, popularly known as Woodberry, has pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Cummings of the US Court in Illinois.

Woodberry is facing charges on wire fraud following his arrest in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, June 10. He was accused of misleading US companies in Iowa, Michigan, New York and California into sending money in the tune of millions of dollars.

On Saturday, July 25, the defendant was in court as he submitted a plea of not guilty after he acknowledged the receipt of the indictment. His trial hearing has, therefore, been set for Saturday, August 8.
